My Mind's Labyrinth. image
Thursday 22 January 2009,

Okay, I know I haven't blogged in a long time. Sorry again, and I don't know how many times I'll relentlessly keep apologising for the same mistake. Ehehe. But anyway, today wasn't my lucky day, really. I'm dead tired and all I want is a hot shower and the comforting presence of my soft, warm bed is so tempting... It's like I have to resort to self-hypnosis. DO NOT FALL ASLEEP. DO NOT FALL ASLEEP. And I'm hungry(okay, I always am) and there's prawns for dinner. Eck. I'm sort of allergic to prawns, but only if I eat too many. My face gets slight rashes. o.O And anyway, about the misfortune of my day today... First and foremost, I FORGOT MY SCHOOL BADGE. Sigh. I had to lie to the prefect that I'd left it in class and dash over to Sristi's class to borrow one. Sorry, Sristi... Promise I'll return you the badge tomorrow! And then I was nearly late for assembly, eek. And the discipline here is really strict... Nails a bit long? BOOK. Late for class? BOOK. Left class lights and fans on? BOOK. Even a minute late for assembly? BOOK! And so it's so amazing how I haven't gotten a single booking. The most terrifying booking category? Never did/brought homework? BOOK. Die for sure. But amazingly, I've not forgotten just yet, though it's a hefty lot we're getting. Maybe my new year resolutions MIGHT work out after all..? That's really like achieving the impossible, but I can still try, can't I?

And next on, I had to eat instant noodles for lunch. By the time I got down, the queues were so loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. Seriously. They stretched across the whole canteen! So cup noodles it was, but poor Qingyun found that the water wasn't working. Eep. And after lunch it was English, and we had Miss Chen again! Yay! Okay, she's my favourite teacher this year. Ehehe. It was this thing about plagiarism, but still it was rather interesting because of how funny some things were. And I've come to the following conclusion which is nonsensical but true:

IF YOU GET ANY WORKSHEET CORRECT, YOU ARE PLAGIARISING THE CREATOR OF THE WORKSHEET BECAUSE OF YOUR FAILURE TO CREDIT THEM AND PERHAPS NO USE OF PARAPHRASING.

Brilliant, eh? So this is saying we're all going to get fined max. $1,000,000 and get a jail term of two years? Hooray! And so just to be safe, at the back of my worksheet I wrote: All answers courtesy of Miss Chen. Ahaha.

And anyway, after school it was Japanese! We learnt stuff like classroom terms and how to say your telephone number. Mine is hachi ni ni hachi something something beep beep. Ehehe, must retain my privacy, no? And basically Japanese was long and tiring, but I met Sonja from last year's choir! She asked me if I was Sec 1 or Sec 2. Erm, why? Bad memory, perhaps. Ahaha. But she's in MGS now, a pretty good school if you ask me. After Japanese, I was dead tired and I was sent home in my parents' car. But when I got to the lift, the worst thing ever happened. Because my New Year's resolution was to be kinder to people and be more civic-minded, I asked an old lady and an old man what level they lived on. The old lady was carrying bags and bags and bags, so she replied kindly, sixth floor. And the old man? Well, he too was carrying a heck of a lot of stuff but all he did was throw the stuff down and press his own number. He even glared at me, eherm. But I kept a straight face and just smiled politely. Sigh... But it doesn't mean that being kind doesn't pay, so I'll try my best! Sounds too enthu, blehh. :3

I miss RGPS so much... RGPS, I'm coming back to see you tomorrow. And teachers, please don't leave so soon. :[ Because we're coming at 1.30, silly full-day school.

P.S: Mustn't forget to do the ICT Cyberwellness homework! :o What time shall I be able to sleep today, I wonder.

P.P.S: I know this is really late, but to the two RI boys who passed away earlier... Rest in peace. Since we're all the same age and we're part of Raffles after all. It's a bit sad and scary at the same time. Maybe we should all really learn to cope with stress.

Sunday 11 January 2009,

Alright, so anyway... TODAY EEZ MY BIRTHDAY! Yay. Even though my parents didn't get me anything, we still watched Ponyo(so CUTE) and ate CAKE. And more CAKE. CAKEY WAS YUMMY! :3 Plus my sis was being utterly adorable and nice today, so I guess it was all worth it, forgoing the presents. Ehehe. So I'm officially the only 110 person who's 13. How depressing, no? *gasp*

And Orientation ended yesterday. All too soon... Our class won 3rd for Station Games and the Most Sunshiney Class Award! YAY! I know the award name is weird, they gave out stuff like 'Most Funkalicious' and 'Most Divine' to every class. Not that weirdness isn't good, eh? And we had an Orientation Camp which rocked so much I seriously can't describe it. Well, all except for the part where the hall floor was so hard. But that was okay, because I got to sleep near Dolly, Hobee and June happened to miraculously appear in front of me. Ooh, scandalous! Oh, sorry. That thing's becoming a habit if you get what I mean... And Miss Chen was sleeping diagonally across me and so close that I had to abandon the 'investigate-ghost-toilet' plan. Aww. Dinner that night was really good, spaghetti and chicken and fish fillet and cheesy potatoes! GO PSR! (I shall explain later)

Our PSLs were really nice and so were our prefects, Lavinia and Li Ting. They're just so patient and caring, aside from the part where they nearly banged our doors down in the toilet. Can't blame them though, Marianne took 11 minutes and she wasn't from 110(obviously) and the PSLs banged and banged and banged and- you get it. When she finally got out, her cheers were the loudest. And at the end, Jen said whoever got out last would 'get her' that night(Grace's idea) and I TURNED OUT TO BE THE ONE. But fo course, they happily forgot about it. Ehehe. Not my fault actually, I got in last and took 2 minutes EXACTLY. Quickest bath ever!

And now about PSR. Our class play was basically about the Potato Sack Racing club getting disbanded due to high injury rate as announced by the principal, and the members try best as they can to save their CCA. All efforts in vain, they finally organise one last race. And something unexpected happens- a member falls down and hurts her knee. So the rest of the racers help her up and slowly move towards the finishing line. Moved by their undying passion, the principal decides to let PSR stay, except for the fact that they'll wear knee and elbow pads for safety. Whee. And yours truly was the creator of this ridiculous idea. Hobee was scriptwriter, though. And the wonderful PSP(Potato Sack People) were me, Vivian, Boon(Cherlene) and Jiamin. And I was that silly falling down girl. My knee really DOES hurt from the rehearsals, and the fact that I really did fall down by accident while trying to act like it does not help either. Ehehe. There's an ugly-looking bruise there now, but hey, at least it's middle-sized. All for 110, after all. What a noble cause. ;] And after the performance, the PSLs were well-done-ing me and some others which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And I got huggled by Li Ting because my hands were too orangey from peeling potato sack spraypaint to shake.

So Orientation has come to a really quick and slightly sad close. I'll really miss the PSLs because we won't be seeing them often but at least Jessie and Li Ting are in Richardson! By the way, Richardson is zee best because it's so full of spirit and it's got a Hokkien cheer. And I absolutely, positively failed the trials for events. Hope I'll get in cheerleading at least. For points, though I'd prefer that to sports. Anyway, 110 FOREVER!

And many thanks to Janne, Jen, Jessie, Grace, Brenda, Dawn, Li Ting and Lavinia! You're all really great. <3

AGAIN. 110 FOREVER! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Thursday 8 January 2009,

I know this is going to be the shortest post ever, if it can even be called that. But anyway... I love RGS and 110. But I miss RGPS ever so much, especially the teachers and juniors. Dunno why. Camp tomorrow, really excited. :3

BYEE! Told ya.

Friday 2 January 2009,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! *throws sparklers and confetti and all that stuff*

Uh, I know it's far too late to be saying this anyway. But my computer died out until today and I had to go through all that installation and the likes, etc. etc. So you get what I mean. Anyway, it's 2009. Gasp all you like, I bet you can't believe it too. And we're(mostly) all in RGS now, right? Anyway, new years always have to begin with resolutions. And as usual, I have quite the list which may or may not come true. In fact, the last time a resolution came true for me was... Say, when I was seven? But I did make a list still, and I'm posting it on here just to encourage myself more. Not sure if that works though. Ehehe. So my resolutions are:

-Get a leadership position in RGS(preferably PSL) by the end of this year
-NOT give up Japanese and actually learn it properly
-Get far above average in every subject and top the class
-NOT get a bad reputation among the teachers
-Bring all my homework on time and actually do it
-Revise for the examinations starting now
-Basically stop being the bottom of the bottomless pit in studies

Yeah. Sounds impossible? Probably. But I've actually started looking through more schoolbooks now... By the way, school days are much longer nowadays. Still, I think it's going to be a lot of fun as well as a lot of hard work. I'm in class 110, and my form teacher is Mrs. Audrey Chen. Somehow she reminds me of Mrs. Chong in a younger version. She speaks those sort of accent-free English that I envy so, and she seems really strict, but not unfair though. And our Philosophy teacher is Mr. Lim, someone I haven't got much of an impression of yet. I like my class lots, the people there are really nice. And we've got 13 RGPS GEP people there. YAAY. Plus I'm in the same class with Jolene for the fourth consecutive year. GASP. And Hobee's in my class too, but Aaheli isn't, sadly. I hope this class gets confirmed to be my class, though. It's a good enough combination, hehe. The PSLs are really nice too.

So I haven't got much time left. Hello 2009 and here's to a great year ahead! YAY!
