Hello there! Happy Boxing Day! :3

And a rather belated Christmas, ehehe. I know I've been a lazy pig and I neglected this blog for so long, but just to keep you updated here's what I've been doing with my life lately. In point-form, of course. Ah, I am just not fit to call myself someone literate.

+ I got through that dreaded choir performance without any mishaps.
+ I watched my choir teacher perform at the Esplanade.
+ I went to Genting for a short holiday and brought back 3 soft toys.
+ I got into RGS, for those who didn't see me on Reporting Day.
+ I got in and decided to take Japanese next year. Success! ^^

So my two greatest wishes are fulfilled right now. Happy? Well, I guess I really am. And next year's going to be a new beginning. Just SIX more days to 2009! SEVEN more days till school re-opens! SIXTEEN more days until I'm officially(gulp) thriteen. Gosh, how time flies. And now that it's coming closer and closer, being thirteen seems all the more scarier. I don't know why, but the thought of being a teenager puts me off. But we can't stay children forever, so I guess I have to face up to it. Ah well, everyone's going trough the same phase as me so who am I to complain? But still. It's SCAAAAARY.

Anyway, for Christmas I wasn't expecting to get anything from anyone at all(I don't celebrate it) but I got some lovely presents from Janelle and Marianne. Thanks guys, I'll treasure them greatly! :3 Oh, but it isn't all about presents. I was pretty happy because of all the 'merry christmas' greetings I recieved as well, haha. And I spent the day before making crappy hand-drawn cards for people. Like the mass one I sent by email, no need to elaborate on that. For my mum it was a stream of talking presents, for my father it was Santa getting stuck in his chimney, and for my sis it was a singing cat and a goose. Don't ask.

So on Christmas Day itself, my parents were really free and they had nothing better to do so my shopaholic mom suggested we go to Japanese Gardens because I liked nature, then to Jurong Point to hunt for Christmas bargains. Her and her bargain-shopping, heehee. We set off for Japanese Gardens, where we stayed awhile and basically just sat by the lake. I got a huge stomachache because I was carsick(I ate lunch just before) on the way there, and my mum said my face went really pale. I threw up in the toilet after that, but I guess I felt better soon. So enough about Japanese Gardens before I bore you to death, and on to our little shopping trip.

We all got back in the car(obviously) after that, and fortunately it was nearly dinnertime so I had no reason to get carsick again. My sis kept saying something about going to Jurong Point in the car, one of her wondrously kiddy singsong modes. I simply stared out of the window as I always do, of course. When we reached the mall, everyone was starving. So we decided to get dinner first. My family loves bargains, so as a result we had to skip the lovely Sushi Tei restaurant and eat food-court Japanese food instead. Though I must admit the udon wasn't that bad, sushi still beats it. Definitely. Sushi is one of my addictions! It was REALLY crowded there, and my sis and I found a seat after a long time.

Well, we actually sat with this young couple and their little toddler girl who looked really cute eating a chicken drumstick. Of course, the queues for food were really long as well, so the two of us just sat there and tried not to stare. More difficult than it sounds, really. When our food finally came, my parents announced that they were going table-hunting because there wasn't any space at the one which we were sitting at. And so we were stuck eating with some absolute strangers. Worse still, the girl's mother kept pointing at my sis when we were sharing the tempura and chicken between us, and she said to the girl: You see, darling? Jie jie also know how to share, so guai. Why you not guai ah, darling? Don't make mummy unhappy okay..? Embarrassing, very embarrassing. And so we wolfed down our food as quickly as possible and went to join our parents. Of course, they finished pretty quickly as well, the ambience there wasn't the best for eating anyway.

After that, my parents went to various clothes shops to look for bargains and I dragged a rather reluctant Percia to Harris Bookstore to look for other bargains- bargains on books. Hehe. I found really nice books like The Memory-Keeper's Daughter for under $10, and even this book for $4.95. It's a hardcover 1200+ page book entitled Hunger's Brides that's set in the Baroque era. Can't wait to read it(if I can finish it). Oh, and I picked up Dan Brown's Angels and Demons for $9.08 as well and yet another big, thick book for $8.90. Pretty eventful, eh. All in all, it came to around $25. Yaaaay me.

My mum seemed to be pretty happy with her shopping as well, seeing as she brought bags and bags of clothes back with her. Then we went to look at miscellaneous things, where my sis bought a really cute pink and black-polka-dotted hairband. She looks so squishy in it, I swear! We also visited this chinese foodmart where my mum bought sichuan spicy steamboat paste, yum yum. And we passed Action City where the two of us got our most unexpected Christmas gifts: loaves of bread. Okay, pieces more like. How cheapskate, right? Nah, just kidding. Here's a picture:

OOH. It's actually called Breadou, and it's some wrist-rest cum stress-ball thing. No matter how I look at it, it's BREAD. And it even smells like it! Coffee-ish smell. Hehe. I just love squishing it so much, it's pretty amusing. I like real bread, but squish-able, non-perishable bread is more my choice. Whee~!

So that's pretty much it. Everyone got home, everyone was happy and we all basked in materialistic comfort. Of course, we got our fair share of hugs and kisses as well. As we always do.

We're only human, after all.
